Psalm 85 :1-131 ¶ «TO THE CHOIRMASTER. A PSALM OF THE SONS OF KORAH.»LORD, you were favourable to your land;you restored the fortunes of Jacob.2 You forgave the iniquity of your people;you covered all their sin. Selah3 You withdrew all your wrath;you turned from your hot anger.4 Restore us again, O God of our salvation,and put away your indignation toward us!5 Will you be angry with us forever?Will you prolong your anger to all generations?6 Will you not revive us again,that your people may rejoice in you?7 Show us your steadfast love, O LORD,and grant us your salvation.8 ¶ Let me hear what God the LORD will speak,for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints;but let them not turn back to folly.9 Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him,that glory may dwell in our land.10 Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;righteousness and peace kiss each other.11 Faithfulness springs up from the ground,and righteousness looks down from the sky.12 Yes, the LORD will give what is good,and our land will yield its increase.13 Righteousness will go before himand make his footsteps a way.

Colossians 1: 1-29Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and growing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth, just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf and has made known to us your love in the Spirit.And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.
THERE is a fountain filled with blooddrawn from Immanuel’s veins;and sinners, plunged beneath that flood,lose all their guilty stains.2 The dying thief rejoiced to seethat fountain in his day;and there have I, though vile as he,washed all my sins away.3 Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious bloodshall never lose its power,till all the ransomed church of Godbe saved to sin no more.4 E’er since, by faith, I saw the streamThy flowing wounds supply,redeeming love has been my theme,and shall be till I die.5 When this poor lisping, stammering tonguelies silent in the grave.Then in a nobler, sweeter songI’ll sing Thy power to save.
Fairest Lord Jesus,
Lord of all creation,
Son of God and Son of man!
you will I cherish,
you will I honour,
you my soul’s glory, joy and crown.2. Fair are the rivers,
meadows and forests,
clothed in the fresh green robes of spring;
Jesus is fairer,
Jesus is purer,
he makes the saddest heart to sing.3. Fair is the sunrise,
starlight and moonlight,
spreading their glory across the sky;
Jesus shines brighter,
Jesus shines clearer
than all the heavenly host on high.4. Nothing in all the earth,nothing in heaven abovecan with His loveliness compare.Now shall my heart’s desireto Him alone aspire,my Jesus, Lord and King most fair.
BEFORE the throne of God aboveI have a strong, a perfect plea,a great High Priest, whose name is Love,who ever lives and pleads for me.My name is graven on His hands,my name is written on His heart;I know that, while in heaven He stands,no tongue can bid me thence depart.2 When Satan tempts me to despair,and tells me of the guilt within,upward I look, and see Him therewho made an end to all my sin.Because the sinless Saviour died,my sinful soul is counted free;for God the Just is satisfiedto look on Him, and pardon me.3 Behold Him there! the risen Lamb!my perfect, spotless righteousness,the great unchangeable I AM,the King of glory and of grace!One with Himself, I cannot die,my soul is purchased with His blood;my life is hid with Christ on high,with Christ, my Saviour and my God.
