  • Opening words

  • Hymn

JESUS is Lord! Creation’s voice proclaims it,
for by His power each tree and flower
was planned and made.
Jesus is Lord! The universe declares it,
sun, moon and stars in heaven
cry, ‘Jesus is Lord!’

Jesus is Lord! Jesus is Lord!
Praise Him with Hallelujahs,
for Jesus is Lord!

2 Jesus is Lord! Yet from His throne eternal
in flesh He came to die in pain
on Calvary’s tree.
Jesus is Lord! From Him all life proceeding,
yet gave His life a ransom
thus setting us free.

3 Jesus is Lord! O’er sin the mighty conqueror,
from death He rose, and all His foes
shall own His name.
Jesus is Lord! God sent His Holy Spirit
to show by works of power
that Jesus is Lord.

Psalm 33
1 ¶  Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous!
   Praise befits the upright.
2  Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre;
   make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
3  Sing to him a new song;
   play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.
4  For the word of the LORD is upright,
   and all his work is done in faithfulness.
5  He loves righteousness and justice;
   the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD.
6  By the word of the LORD the heavens were made,
   and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
7  He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap;
   he puts the deeps in storehouses.
8  Let all the earth fear the LORD;
   let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
9  For he spoke, and it came to be;
   he commanded, and it stood firm.
10  The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
   he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11  The counsel of the LORD stands forever,
   the plans of his heart to all generations.
12 ¶  Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,
   the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!
13  The LORD looks down from heaven;
   he sees all the children of man;
14  from where he sits enthroned he looks out
   on all the inhabitants of the earth,
15  he who fashions the hearts of them all
   and observes all their deeds.
16  The king is not saved by his great army;
   a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
17  The war horse is a false hope for salvation,
   and by its great might it cannot rescue.
18  Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him,
   on those who hope in his steadfast love,
19  that he may deliver their soul from death
   and keep them alive in famine.
20  Our soul waits for the LORD;
   he is our help and our shield.
21  For our heart is glad in him,
   because we trust in his holy name.
22  Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us,
   even as we hope in you.
  • Hymn

ALL things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful,
the Lord God made them all.

2 Each little flower that opens,
each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,
He made their tiny wings:

3 The purple-headed mountain,
the river running by,
the sunset, and the morning
that brightens up the sky:

4 The cold wind in the winter,
the pleasant summer sun,
the ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one:

5 He gave us eyes to see them,
and lips that we might tell
how great is God almighty,
who has made all things well:

Romans 12:9-21
9  "Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
10  Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour.
11  Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
12  Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
13  Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
14  Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
15  Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
16  Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be conceited.
17  Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
19  Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
20  To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21  Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
  •  Hymn

1 Whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are right,
all that is pure and noble:
make these things your delight.
Whatever is praiseworthy
and beautiful and true,
all excellence and virtue
shall form Christ's mind in you.

2 In all things, make thanksgiving;
for all things, join in prayer:
the peace of God will guard you
rejoice the Lord is near!
Let nothing make you anxious;
what you have learned, obey:
the God of peace be with you
and Christ be all your way.

  • Hymn

I KNOW that my Redeemer
lives crowned upon the throne;
Lord over earth and heaven,
He saves and He alone;
He conquered death by dying
upon the accursèd tree,
and from His death sprang glorious
eternal life for me.

2 I think upon my Saviour,
I trust His power to keep,
His mighty arm enfolds me
awaking and in sleep.
Christ is my rock, my courage;
Christ is my soul’s true life;
and Christ – my heart still knows it –
will bear me through the strife.

3 In Jesus’ name I’m living;
in Jesus’ name I’ll die;
I’ll fear not, though life’s vigour
from death’s cold shadow fly.
O grave, where is your triumph?
O death, where is your sting?
My Saviour! He has conquered!
Secure in Him I sing.

  • Hymn

TAKE time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord;
abide in Him always, and feed on His Word.
Make friends of God’s children, help those who are weak;
forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek.

2 Take time to be holy, the world rushes on;
spend much time in secret with Jesus alone.
By looking to Jesus like Him thou shalt be;
thy friends, in thy conduct, His likeness shall see.

3 Take time to be holy, let Him be thy guide:
and run not before Him whatever betide:
in joy or in sorrow still follow thy Lord,
and, looking to Jesus, still trust in His Word.

4 Take time to be holy, be calm in thy soul;
each thought and each temper beneath His control.
Thus led by His Spirit and filled with His love,
thou soon shall be fitted for service above.
